Working primarily in oils Howard Searchfield takes inspiration from the classical and modern masters alike, focussing on beauty, aesthetics and form. Searchfield strives to capture the essence and emotion of the subject or concept he is expressing through the medium of paint on canvas.
An obsessive painter, largely self-taught, he has studied with artists, Tony Champ, Dierk Vanderlindt, and more recently with Adelaide artist Robin Eley and Brooklyn N.Y artist David Kassan.
Currently exhibiting at Hillier and Skuse Gallery his paintings and drawings hang in the homes of collectors both nationally and internationally.
